About this poster
This was run as a fountain fade which means we used 1 screen with 2 different color inks that were blended together. To get this technique to print correctly is actually quite time consuming as you have to run many tests sheets to get the ink mixing properly. We have found it is easier to achieve and control with a manual press, but since this was printed in an edition of 1000+ we had to make it work with the semi-auto! In the first picture you can see we apply the ink in wedges to help the blend become more smooth faster. Of course with everything in screenprinting, there are a multitude of different techniques you could use here as well. This was by far the largest edition we have used this technique on!
