About this poster
This poster ends up being a homage to the venue and the history that it contains. The bordering of the poster is based on the brick work in the columns of the facade of the stadium. The scoreboard at the top of the design that holds the general show information is a rebuild of the infamous scoreboard that’s been in the stadium since the early 1900s. The green used throughout the poster is to highlight the “green monster” - which is the looming wall that has stopped many a home run in left field over the years. Lots of fun, clean details - I wanted this one to feel very 90s inspired, like something your dad would have been all about in 1994. I love doing stuff like this so much!
I did not create the patch for this concert, but I was tasked with taking the centralized patch design and turning it into a poster design. Tearing the original design apart and rebuilding it to make sense for this format, the patch had “Boston” super large, so that had to be swapped for the band name. It was an interesting problem to solve with all of the layering for depth, but we got there!
A full color digital 18x24 print, it looks like it ended up being printed with some sort of gel ink on the navy blue lines to give it a bit of texture and 3D action. - Brian Morgante
