“I was so stoked that Phish let me a do a casino scene for this one--I actually used to work at a ‘vegas-style’ casino near my hometown in rural MN, and I have a lot of feelings about them... I always love an opportunity to draw a bunch of weird faces and bodies from my imagination, so this was a perfect chance to do just that. If you look close, you'll find zombie Prince (who had died earlier that year), zombie Buster Keaton (who I love and who I'd been watching a lot of at the time), zombie Dan's Dad, and zombie Mac King (who is the only thing I like about Las Vegas and SERIOUSLY EVERYBODY SHOULD GO SEE HIS SHOW IF YOU'RE EVER IN VEGAS HE IS AN ABSOLUTE MASTER OF HIS CRAFT for real if you're interested in mastery this dude is amazing)
As always, I wish I had had like one more day to spend with the color, but overall I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. As a side note, I learned while making this that Dan has like some kind of absolute secret knowledge of how roulette works which was news to me! I've never played. Apparently Dan is a shark. “ - JS
